Each spring since 2017, I’ve chosen to celebrate my birthday in a meaningful way by raising funds to support the Dharma Bum Temple. This annual tradition is more than a fundraiser; it’s a reminder that this sacred space exists because of all of us, and it will continue to thrive only through our shared care and support.

It is one of the greatest honors of my life to serve as Co-Founder and CEO of the Dharma Bum Temple. What began on New Year’s Eve in 2006 in a small downtown space has grown into a vibrant, compassionate community rooted in a historic 1927 building we are now privileged to steward.

For nearly two decades, this Temple has been a place where people come to practice, heal, and support one another, completely free of charge. It is not the building itself that makes this place so special, but the people who walk through its doors with open hearts and a willingness to grow.

Together, we have accomplished so much. Because of your generosity, we have restored and preserved this beautiful space in powerful ways, replacing the roof, installing solar panels, upgrading electrical and HVAC systems, repairing plumbing, restoring original flooring, renovating retreat spaces, and creating peaceful outdoor environments including our new Zen garden. Nearly every corner of this Temple has been touched by your support. And still, the work continues.

As costs rise, so does the responsibility to sustain this offering. While everything we provide remains free to the community, our monthly expenses continue to grow, and we are actively working to reduce the remaining building debt of $415,969. I humbly ask you to be part of this next chapter. Our goal for this fundraisig campaign is to raise $50,000 and I invite you to please help us achieve it.
