Meditation and Community at the LGBT Center

On March 12th, the Dharma Bum Temple had the honor of offering a meditation and discussion for the 50+ HIV Support Group at the LGBT Center. This gathering was a meaningful opportunity to share the practice of mindfulness in a space rooted in resilience, connection, and care.

The session was led by Dharma Bum Temple co-founder Jeffrey Zlotnik, who guided participants through a gentle meditation designed to cultivate presence, ease, and compassion. Following the meditation, the group engaged in an open discussion, reflecting on the role of mindfulness in navigating life’s challenges, finding moments of peace, and building inner strength.

It was deeply moving to sit together in community, each person bringing their own experiences, yet united in the shared intention to be present and supportive of one another. Spaces like these remind us that meditation is not just a solitary practice, but something that can foster connection, healing, and understanding when practiced together.

We are grateful to the LGBT Center for welcoming us and for the important work they do in supporting their community. It is an honor for the Dharma Bum Temple to offer these practices in service to others, and we look forward to continuing to share the teachings of mindfulness wherever they are needed.
