PRIDE PARADE: SATURDAY JULY 18TH AT 10AM

PRIDE FESTIVAL CLEAN-UP: MONDAY JULY 20TH 7AM-5PM

It is with great PRIDE we share that the Dharma Bum Temple will be marching in the 2026 San Diego Pride Parade on Saturday July 18th at 10am! We will also be volunteering with San Diego Pride to help clean up after the Pride Festival on Monday July 20th from 7am-5pm.

The Dharma Bum Temple is not just an ally, but a true spiritual home for the LGBTQ+ community with a significant number of attendees identifying as LGBTQ+. This includes founding board members, former board president and current program leaders which ensures the cultivation of a safe space. We have led meditation at the Pride Festival DevOUT Booth and Zen Garden, the LGBT Community Center for the 50+ HIV discussion group and with the San Diego Pride Staff. The last three years we helped clean Balboa Park the day after the Pride Festival, a tradition we vow to uphold annually. Together we stand as a beacon of support and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community having co-led the Pride Parade blessing with religious leaders in 2018, 2019, 2023, 2024, and 2025, spoken at Light up the Cathedral six of the last eight years, marched in the Pride Parade with the interfaith coalition as well as on our own as a Temple the last three years.

In 2024 the Dharma Bum Temple received The Light of Pride Award presented by San Diego Pride and St. Paul's Cathedral. The award is given annually to an organization for their persistent and sustained support of the San Diego LGBTQ+ Community and is making significant contributions through their time, actions, talents and dedication.

For the Pride Festival Clean-up on Monday July 20th, we will have shifts from 7am-12pm and 12pm-5pm. You are also welcome to stay all day as lunch, snacks and plenty of drinks will be provided.
