Special Guest: Venerable Ananda

The Dharma Bum Temple is honored to host a very special guest Sri Lankan Monk Venerable Lindagala Ananda Thero. The topic will be Meditation Beyond the Four Postures. While the "four postures" (sittingstandingwalking, and lying) area foundational aspect of meditation, mindfulness can be practiced in any posture and activity, not just during formal meditation sessions. 

Venerable Ananda completed his all-monastic education in Sri Lanka and did his bachelor's and master's degree in Buddhist Studies in Singapore. Currently, he is following Buddhist Chaplaincy program in University of the West, Los Angeles. He has been practicing monastic life for more than 20 years and has been doinga lot of meritorious deeds including water projects, hospital projects, offering to the poor children, monastic schools and caring for the needy in Sri Lanka since 2011. Also, he has been serving as a volunteer at a Suicidal Prevention Centre in Singapore and is currently serving at Strength United Agency as a volunteer Advocate for people who are affected by Domestic Violence. His practice goes beyond the traditional Buddhist practices, and heis following the Buddhayāna, the Path of the Buddha.
