Dear Dharma Bum Community,

The Dharma Bum Temple and Buddha for You have evolved so beautifully over the past eighteen years. We are currently sitting in an amazing building filled with classes and people every day. As we continue to grow, one thing has become truly clear and that is we need more help. We have always tried to manage the business of a non-profit organization without too much involvement from the community. We wanted the community to benefit from the Temple and not get wrapped up in the business side of things. As we look at succession planning and prepare for the future, we have decided to shift this focus slightly.

We currently rely on more than one hundred volunteers to make everything we do possible and this will continue. We do however have additional volunteer opportunities to help with operations, and we are now looking for people within the community to help us prepare for the next twenty years. We believe the best people to continue to care for this community are those who know and love it.

In brief, we will be documenting in detail all our programs, creating a complete operations manual, and building a succession plan. Part of this work has been identifying areas we need help with and now reaching out to you for your assistance.

We are launching a new survey to help us understand your diverse talents and how you might like to contribute. This is a chance to help us grow and create even more engaging opportunities for everyone. It only takes 5-10 minutes, and your responses are confidential.
