Community Clean-Up: Service & Friendship in North Park

At Dharma Bum Temple, we believe that practice doesn’t stop at the cushion—it extends into how we care for one another and the world around us. This month, we invite you to put compassion into action by joining us for our North Park Community Clean-Up, a monthly service practice centered on connection, care, and collective effort.

A Monthly Practice of Service

Sunday, December 21st
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
North Park Mini Park
3812 29th St, San Diego, CA 92104

We’re partnering with LocalCleanup (localcleanup.org) to support cleaner, healthier neighborhoods through hands-on community service. Each month, volunteers gather to help pick up litter, clear debris from walkways and curbs, and bring fresh energy into the spaces we all share.

This is more than a clean-up—it’s an opportunity to practice mindfulness in motion. As we work side by side, we cultivate presence, generosity, and a shared sense of responsibility for our environment and our community.

Why Join?

Community clean-ups are a simple yet powerful way to:

  • Care for the neighborhoods that hold us
  • Practice service as a form of meditation
  • Meet new people and strengthen community bonds
  • Make a visible, meaningful impact together

Everyone is welcome—no prior experience required. Whether you come with friends, family, or on your own, you’ll be met with openness, teamwork, and a shared intention to do good.

Carpool Information

For those who would like to carpool, drivers and riders are asked to meet outside Dharma Bum Temple to depart by 9:45 AM.

Practicing Off the Cushion

Service is a cornerstone of our practice. By caring for the spaces beyond our walls, we extend the values of Dharma Bum Temple into the wider world—creating cleaner streets, more peaceful environments, and stronger connections with those around us.

We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful morning of service and friendship. Together, we can make a difference—one small act at a time.
